The room and the night
—————

What's the atmosphere like?

Dark, candlelit and full of energy. The tables sit close, the music is fun, and dinner has a way of turning into a night.

Is it good for a date?

Lovely for one. Candlelight, a table close enough to lean across, small plates to share, and an amaro to finish.

Is it good for a group of friends?

Wonderfully so. The food is made for sharing, and it's a lovely room to be in with people you like.

Is it romantic?

Candlelight, close tables, a bottle from a small family producer, an amaro at the end. We rather think so.

Is it good for a birthday or an anniversary?

We'd love that. The room already feels like an occasion in the evening, let us make your night an evening to remember.

Can I eat on my own at the bar?

Always welcome. The bar has some of the best seats in the house, and whoever's pouring is always good company.

Are children welcome?

Very. Families usually come in a little earlier in the evening, which works beautifully. And we have a secret kids menu, so do ask your server. High chairs are here whenever you need one.

Booking, walk-ins and the patios
—————

Do you take reservations?

We do, and you can book up to twelve guests right here on the site.

Can you seat a larger group?

For more than twelve, email hello@annettefoodmarket.com and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

Can you host a private event?

Yes you can. We'd love to hear about it. Email: hello@annettefoodmarket.com.

Do you take walk-ins?

We do! We try to keep a few seats back for people who decide last minute and are having a craving.

Do you have a patio?

Two of them in fact! Through the summer and for as long as the weather allows.

Our side patio is covered and fully heated, and it's the one you can book. Our street patio is more casual, with picnic tables and umbrellas, and it takes larger groups without a reservation.

What are your hours?

Tuesday to Thursday and Sunday, 5pm to 9pm. Friday and Saturday, 5pm to 10pm. The bar stays open later. We're closed on Mondays.

Eating with us

—————

What should I order?

A perfect night begins with one of our signature cocktails, then a glass of wine and a few small plates to share. Pizza, pasta and mains after that, and finish with something sweet and an amaro.

If you remember only one thing, make it the short rib. Slow braised for more than twelve hours, finished in the wood-fired oven, with garlic rapini and au jus.

Tell your server how hungry you are and let them build the table with you.

Do you have vegetarian options?

Many. We have a great deal of vegetable cooking on our menu, and your server will happily walk you through it.

Do you have vegan options?

We have a vegan pizza, and our kitchen will always do its best for you. The choice is a little smaller, so it helps to let us know when you book.

Do you have gluten free options?

We have many vegetable and protein options available, and your server will happily point the way. If you're celiac, do read our note on allergies just below.

How do you handle food allergies?

Our team is always happy to try and accommodate. Tell us when you book, or let your server know on the evening, and we'll do our best for you. We make everything here, so we know exactly what's in each dish. For serious celiac concerns, do be aware that we make all our own doughs, so flour is literally in the air. Please use your own best judgment.

Do you make fresh pasta?

We only make fresh, not dried pasta. It's softer, it takes a sauce right into itself, and it cooks in minutes.

What's the pizza like?

Neapolitan in style, wood-fired, on a sourdough crust we age for three to five days, and probably what we're best known for. Our tomato sauce is milled by hand, which keeps the seeds from breaking and souring it.

Everyone has a favourite. Some come for our famous white potato pizza, or the mushroom medley with slow roasted garlic. Others appreciate the simplicity and freshness of our margherita, or the classic anchovy. And our spicy soppressata has been a menu favourite from the beginning.

Why do you age the dough so long?

Because time does what nothing else can. Three to five days lets the culture break down the starches long before the dough ever reaches the oven.

That's where the open crumb and the gentle sourness come from, and it's why so many people find our pizza sits more easily with them than a quick dough does. We've fed the same starter since the day we opened in 2014.

Do you have a full bar?

Over twenty-five wines by the glass and many more by the bottle, champagne, craft draught beer,  a thoughtful cocktail list built with tinctures and syrups we make ourselves, and an amaro list thirty bottles deep.

Can I order takeout?

Yes, through our online ordering, which is live whenever the kitchen is open. Most of the menu travels well and is available, pizza and pasta included.

Do you deliver?

Not at the moment, though you're very welcome to order online for pickup.
